What it costs to be here.
Is the platform free to use?
Platform access is 100% free if you write policies under our hierarchy. We currently offer UnitedHealthCare, AmeriHealth Caritas, Oscar, Ameritas, and Physicians Mutual. If you choose to keep your existing carrier appointments with these carriers elsewhere, you can still access our tech platform for an all-inclusive fee of $99/month. You may remain contracted with other carriers we do not support without paying a tech fee.
Are there any carrier contracting or onboarding fees?
No. Contracting with carriers through our portal is completely free with zero hidden administrative, onboarding, or sign-up fees.
Is CareBetter a captive agency?
No, we do not require exclusivity to write on our platform. However, you do need to contract with our carriers under our hierarchy to unlock free platform access.
Schedule & Employment Structure
You own the business. We run the platform.
What are the working hours?
Operational platform hours are 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM EST. As an independent 1099 contractor, you set your own schedule and decide when you work within these hours.
Is this a W-2 position or a 1099 business opportunity?
This is a 1099 independent contractor model. You own your business, run your own schedule, and receive direct 100% carrier commission payouts with zero corporate management splits.
Do I need to be licensed in Florida before getting started?
Yes. You must hold an active Florida health insurance license (2-15 or 2-40) to contract with carriers and write business on the platform.

CareBetter operates as a 100% digital, direct-carrier tech platform. By cutting out phone interviews and corporate middle management, we pass 100% direct carrier commissions to you with zero agency splits.
Who do I contact if I run into a problem or need support?
Support is handled digitally via our fast-response portal ticketing system and live chat. This guarantees you get rapid, written assistance without sitting on phone queues.
Is training provided?
Our AI system guides you through each call in real time. In addition, we provide resources and training videos in the portal. We also offer test calls so you can practice sales without spending any money on leads.
Leads, Payouts & Chargebacks
How the money actually moves.
How do leads work?
Agents fund their own lead flow. Calls are inbound, routed directly to your headset with a single click, and provided at low market rates.
How are ACA commission payouts structured?
ACA health plans are paid on a Per Member Per Month (PMPM) direct-carrier model. You earn a fixed monthly commission for every active policyholder for as long as their coverage stays active.
How do chargebacks work?
For ACA health plans paid on a monthly PMPM (as-earned) schedule, there are no advance chargebacks. If a client cancels, your monthly payments simply stop. There are no retroactive clawbacks on months already earned.
For ancillary products (like DVH plans) that offer advanced commissions, standard carrier chargeback schedules apply if a policy cancels early.
What is the overall pay structure?
When writing under our hierarchy, you receive 100% direct-from-carrier commission payouts. Compensation is deposited directly into your bank according to their standard schedules.
How long does carrier contracting approval take?
Once you e-sign inside the portal, carrier approval typically takes 48 to 72 hours, depending on individual carrier processing times, but may take longer.

What states are active, and which carriers do you offer?
We operate exclusively in Florida. Our carrier lineup includes top-tier ACA health plans (AmeriHealth Caritas, UHC, and Oscar), along with standalone DVH (Dental, Vision, Hearing) coverage through Ameritas and Physicians Mutual.
How do sales scripts work on the platform?
You don't need to memorize multiple scripts. The platform provides one master script paired with an interactive live AI assistant. The AI guides you sentence-by-sentence in real time during live calls and tracks your compliance checklist automatically.
Do you supply Errors & Omissions (E&O) coverage?
No. All active agents are required to maintain their own independent E&O policy prior to contracting with carriers.
